MRMLS Director News

Hello Tigar's

Happy New Year to all our TIGAR members.  I didn’t write a letter last month because things were kind of quiet ending the year and getting started with a new one.  But here we are in the 2nd month with MRMLS and CARETS getting busy again.  It looks like there is going to be a lot in store for our members in the near future.

To start with, MATRIX 5.0, the newest version of our MATRIX program will be rolling out near the end of February.  It will have enhancements to the organization of Contacts, Saved Searches, Auto Mail, and Email History. One of the main additions is what is being called a Speed Search Bar.  It will be like searching in Google.  Put is some key words and it will start searching.  I saw this demonstrated several months ago and it was pretty awesome.  Also there will be a new CMA Wizard.  You will start getting I-dates about the release of this new version of MATRIX soon.

CARETS is working on adding VCRDS (Ventura, Oxnard, Conejo Valley, Simi Valley) and CDAR (Calif. Desert Area) into the system.  Rapattoni is their MLS system and it is preparing to support the CARETS system.  So that should be coming soon.  CARETS has grown faster than anticipated and is taking steps to get the system set up to bringing in more users.  But first the system has to be ready for the new load of users.  We don’t want our current users to suffer because of its growth.

Another addition to MRMLS via CARETS is a new commercial system.  It will bring in Commercial Industrial, Commercial Lease, and Business Opportunity property types.  It will be located at www.CARETScommercial.com and will be accessible from within MATRIX.

Something that should excite every one is the elimination of using the token to sign in.  We are replacing the tokens with a program called Scout.  It is a new tokenless strong authentication system.  You will start getting updates and usage will start in March.  This program has been used in a number of large MLS’s very successfully.  Remember, at MRMLS we will not use our members as guinea pigs for a new program.  Our continued high level of performance is our most important concern for our members.  We will only incorporate proven systems.  That’s why we don’t have break downs or down time.

We have made some requests to Realist Tax to add some new search criteria to help agents get more detailed information.  These requests came from MRMLS users and one came from one of our own TIGAR members.  Remember, if you have an idea that will benefit our members send them to me and it will be looked into.

There will be some upgrades to our other programs to help improve their performance. You can see from these new changes that I have mentioned above, MRMLS has not been sitting back.  Technology, as we all know, is changing everyday and MRMLS will continue to change with it.

From my own knowledge of MLS systems around our state and around the country, MRMLS is second to none and will continue to give our members the tools that they need in the changing real estate environment that we work in.  MRMLS is your system, controlled by our own members, so you will always have a say in how it works for you.  You will always have open communication with MRMLS.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any ideas or concerns.

I’m sure there will be a lot more next month, so keep an eye out for the updates that TIGAR sends you.

Logging out,
David Englin
